Welcome to Viking Wrestling
On behalf of the Northwest Viking Wrestling Coaching Staff, let me be the first to welcome you to the 2004-2005 wrestling season.

This season brings with it some new changes, but yet it promises to be one of the best seasons ever! So what is going to make the difference? YOU! That's correct, just the mere fact that you have allowed your son or daughter to participate in Ciking Wrestling this season is going to make the difference.

As the new head coach for the Viking Wrestlers, I want to be able to communicate to you just how important you are to me, and how important your son/daughter is to me as well. I also want you to know that my intentions, and the intention of my staff, is to build productive members of this community, using wrestling as a tool by which to model and shape these young adults.

My challenge to those who participate in this program is to "never settle" for second best and to push yourself to your fullest extent. I believe that this philosophy will spill off the mats and into the homes, hallways, and streets of this community. You can help make this happen simply by showing your support.

The Season
There are many things that I would like to discuss with you personally. This season has perhaps the single most important procedural changes, which will significantly impact how wrestling will be coached and how wrestlers will handle weight loss issues. This change will put aside many parental fears that their wrestler is doing something harmful to themselves, or that the coach is asking them to make too low of a weight class.

I would like you to join us on Monday October 18, 2004 at the highschool cafeteria. This meeting will start promptly at 6:30 PM and should last no longer than one hour. I know that everyone has a busy schedule but this meeting is crucial for you and your wrestler, manager, or wrestlerette to attend.

If you are unable to attend this meeting you can take a look at our wrestling website at http://nwhswrestling.itgo.com to get some of the information. Attached I will include the 2004-2005 wrestling schedule. Please keep in mind that the schedule will be undergoing some changes as this is the schedule the former coach set up and we are trying to make some changes that we believe wil better benefit the team.

Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to meeting you in person on the 18th.
